Writing your first formula

Every formula starts with =. After that you can do arithmetic with + - * and /.

The power move is using cell names instead of numbers. =B2+C2 beats =1200+850: when B2 changes, the answer updates by itself.

Sheets follows the order of operations, so use parentheses when you need to: =(A1+A2)*A3.
